Cheon Sang Ji Hee (CSJH) the Grace - "Renew" (2007)

Cheon Sang Ji Hee (CSJH/TSZX) the Grace stands for "All of Heaven's Blessings," formed by the initials of the four girls' family names. The quartet consists of Stephanie, Lina, Sunday, and Dana. This past weekend, they made their comeback with their first album, having released two singles previously. Watch their performance here: Part 1 and Part 2.

"Witch Yoo Hee"

It's a little sad, "Witch Yoo Hee" is already 14 episodes out. The drama will be wrapping up this week with episodes 15 and 16 (final). I've enjoyed this series so much, it's been simply a delight to watch. A little background information: Han Ga In plays the role of Ma Yoo Hee (female lead) and Jae Hee plays the role of Chae Mu-ryong (male lead).

In the first episode, the audience is introduced to Yoo Hee as someone who "only wears black, no makeup, severe glasses with a severe hairstyle, seems to enjoy nothing and finds only the fault in things. She’s the boss at her company, so the others are simultaneously afraid of her and whisper behind her back. She’s quite aptly called ‘witch’ by everyone when she’s not around. Not surprisingly, she’s not doing so well in the romance department. She goes on tons of blind dates, but never manages to get to a second date. To us, it’s more than patently obvious why — she criticizes everything, laughs at nothing — but she has no idea what’s wrong." (Yoo Hee is [...] mean because she has no tact, and no self-awareness. And no patience. Everyone else is out playing the game, and Yoo Hee’s oblivously wondering, ‘Huh? There’s a game?’) Through a series of accidental (and fortunate) events, Mu-ryong becomes her coach to help turn her into a refined and lovable woman. (Think "My Fair Lady.")

Jumping to episode 14, needless to say, the relationship between the two lead characters have developed significantly. Mu-ryong is still ever so patient and tending towards Yoo Hee; Yoo Hee has overcome her insecurities and fronted toughness by revealing her vulnerability when she admitted to Mu-ryong that she likes him. In this scene, Yoo Hee calls Mu-ryong and gives him a surprise (which is a grand gesture on her part considering her character - so it also shows how she has changed). Once he arrives, the bridge lights slowly lights up one by one. Turning his gaze and following the path of the lights, Mu-ryong sees Yoo Hee standing at the end of the bridge holding a cake. Innocently, she walks towards him; as Mu-ryong also starts to approach her, she stops him and says, "Don't come over, just stand there. I'll go to you... I'll go over." In episodes 1-13, Mu-ryong has always been (literally and figuratively) running to her, so this statement is so symbolical, it's perfect.

This scene was so beautifully shot, even the colors in the background played a part in enhancing the close-up shots. The whole scene glowed: 1) because of the lights (obviously), 2) amazing acting - you can see their affection for each other in their eyes!, and 3) the simple romantic gesture in itself. <3 The background music and the matching couple outfits are a bonus. =] Cheesy and touching, just the way I like it, so how could I not blog about this scene?

(above) Hyun Joong said that he doesn't really know how Darth Vader looks like. So instead, he drew a scarred horse and pointed at Jung Min. Hahaha, ridiculous... x_x

(left) Teamwork is always good, although Darth Vader no longer looks as scary in girl clothes. :p
(right) At first glance, I thought, "That is the.. cutest.. Darth Vader I've ever seen... It even has sparkly eyes." But no, that's actually a squid-mouse hybrid, no? Hahaha.

This upcoming week is full of finals for me... Fighting!! But the good part is, the end of finals simultaneously mark the beginning of summer and my being able to go home. :] I miss home so much.

It saddens me to say this.. but I think I'm losing interest in xanga. Note, I just said xanga, not blogging itself. For one, I feel my site layout is way overdue in need of an update; and as time passes me by, I can't help feel that (while it is still extremely cute) my blog site needs a more mature look. But I no longer have the will to browse through pages and pages of pre-made layouts, when I am not satisfied with most I see. Also, I am in such habit of sticking on photos and youtube links to posts now, that it reduces my desire to write posts of real substance.

Nonetheless, I still love xanga, and I think that it is a great blogging site with many functions. Myspace and Facebook just cannot compete. Livejournal? Well, LJ seems to be very much so an exclusive community, and from the few blogs that I've seen, it seems to be pretty good. Although between xanga and LJ, I'd probably just rather stick to something I'm familiar with.

I've maintained this blog for more than 3 years - public & private entries. It holds so many defying/important moments and thoughts in my past. While it's reassuring to know that I have logged down all these written entries, it's also discomforting to know that I actually have no written hard copies.

Haha, so what's my point? I've decided to move. =] After classes and finals are over, I will be working on my new blog site. I've made a new account with wordpress.com. (I discovered this site after stumbling across another blog with wordpress.) The page has a very clean look with sufficient options for my own blogging needs. Hehe. I'm excited about the change. Then... I will show you guys my site when I'm done. :] There, my music won't automatically start playing, it'll look more like my music posts on Facebook.

I love blogging. I like the thought that I'm sharing my interests with others, regardless of whether others do or do not take up on my likes. I also have lots of random thoughts running through this head of mine, and I need a place to store them. Not surprisingly then, I love reading good blogs! To quote the author of a blog I really admire, because I couldn't put it in any better way:

"You know what I love? Good blogs. (Good means any/all of the following things: good writing, whether funny, literate, interesting, entertaining, witty; good content, hopefully frequently updated; a point of view and some attitude, because who prefers bland over sassy?; a solid sense of its identity and purpose; and good editorial range, displaying some breadth of knowledge but not so scattered about in every direction as to seem schizo.)" -javabeans

I realized this weekend that Austin is a really beautiful place. Compared to Dallas, the grass is more green. Compared to Houston, well, it's most likely less humid. But more so than that, Austin is filled with lakes, trails, creeks, tall trees. The soil is also good - as I've witnessed on multiple volunteering occasions. Even more than that, haha, are the small, local shops all over Austin. I think I would have so much fun. Gift stores, clothing stores, antiques, bead store, stationary store, coffee shops, et cetera. Doesn't that sound like fun adventures? I am growing to have an attraction to this city. :] Minus the traffic.

As a side note... "Witch Yoo Hee" is so cute. On a date, finding a toy ring in the ice cream and folded notes in the popcorn bag. My heart is fluttering~~ Gentlemen, do take note.

S S 5 0 1... Young Saeng, Kyu Jong, Jung Min, and Hyung Jun left for Japan on Sunday. Hyun Joong will be staying for an extra week in Korea and follow them next week. I am not too sad, with the wide scope nature of the Internet, I am sure that my (and fellow fans') stalking skills will allow us to continue to be updated on their activities. Hehe. It's hard to imagine moving to a new country to live there only for a few months, but they're achieving their dreams, in the meantime, I will too. Go win over more hearts, SS501. We'll miss you.

But I love her works, they always look so professional..~
